Dear Rachael,
I’m an English teacher based in Melbourne, Australia. I would first like to thank you for all the great materials you have created and released through the years.
I actually wanted to ask your advice, if you don’t mind. I’m looking to move away from the teaching side and more into content creation and materials writing. I want to concentrate on listening, especially using authentic materials and spontaneous speech. Since I also have a degree in music and have worked in audio production, I feel I’d be well suited to producing high quality materials for English learners.
What I’m looking for are some suggestions from someone who has experience creating and releasing materials, both online and in print.
Would you recommend starting a regular website? A blog? Releasing youtube videos? Trying to put together an eBook? Or trying to work through established companies/publishers? Do you have any advice/warnings from your experience? I’m CELTA trained with about 10 years’ teaching practice in 3 countries. I just don’t really know where to start.
Thank you in advance for your help and for all the wonderful materials.
Best,
Dan Semo
