Hi Rachael
Perhaps you disagree, but I’m a firm believer that when it comes to online communication, layout and usability matter just as much as the words being displayed. On that basis, I wanted to get in touch.
Overall, I’m impressed with elt-resourceful.com. It’s clear you put a lot of work in here.
Quick question – do you have a way to test your users’ experience, or are you trying to figure it out ‘by eye’?
It doesn’t seem like you have any ads, for example, despite having really good traffic.
Balancing ads without ruining user experience can be a tricky thing. It is possible, though, to grow ad revenue and also improve how your users interact with the site, how much they read, how many pages they visit, and so on. A win/win/win.
As a Google Certified Publishing Partner, Ezoic’s technology helps website owners with an automatic tool that smartly adapts the way ads and content are served to users. It’s free to use for sites like yours.
Everything on your site stays the same, if you want it to, except Ezoic makes ads and ad networks compete against each other for space. A better user experience almost always results in better earnings, often of more than +60%.
An indirect effect – not guaranteed, but almost invariable – of these good usability signals is that Google pushes your site up search rankings.
If you’re open to discussing this idea, drop me an e-mail on amorrice@ezoic.com. I think it’ll be worth learning about, at least.
All the best,
Adam Morrice
